FIRST AID CLASSES FOR NEW PARENTS

Why should you take a first aid class?

As a new parent keeping your baby safe can feel like a huge, frightening and overwhelming responsibility.  One of the best investments you can make to ease that sense of fear is to attend a first aid course.  By learning simple first aid principles and skills which you can apply calmly and competently, should you ever need to, will ease that sense of fear and boost your confidence!.

You can’t wrap your child up in cotton wool to keep them safe.  Babies and children get sick, accidents happen, despite your best efforts.  So. It’s best to be prepared!

About Kate

Hi,

Before coming to Belgium I was a qualified nurse with 25 years practical experience and a Master of Studies in Primary and Community Care from Cambridge University.  I completed the Rode Kruis Vlaanderen Brevet Eerste Hulp (Basiscursus) and Brevet Helper (Vervolgcursus) in March 2015.  Then through Aid Training and Operations Ltd in the UK completed a First Aid Instructors Course.  I teach in line with the requirements of the UK Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 with the content delivered in line with the Resuscitation Council (UK) Guidelines 2021.  This is backed up by my experiences working as a prenatal teacher (Diploma of Higher Education Antenatal Education) and mum to my 18 year old daughter with a home constantly echoing with the sound of giggling young people and a husband who is rather fond of DIY!

Plus I am the owner of www.pregnantinbelgium.com  All the information and resources you need all in one place with clear insights into the Belgian healthcare system, from selecting the ideal place to birth your baby to understanding your rights. And, demystifying the complexities of Belgian admin with health insurance and social security.

I look forward to meeting at a class soon
